What is the difference between an identification assessment and a medical assessment?

Our Specialist Teachers are equipped to diagnose dyslexia in ages 8 and above. They are also able to identify Dyspraxia/DCD and ADHD in ages 16 and 18 upwards respectively.

Identification of Dyspraxia/DCD and ADHD is not a formal clinical diagnosis. This identification can, however, support the application for DSA funded support for Higher Education learners. This identification may also, depending on education providers and/or workplaces, support in requesting reasonable adjustments.

If a diagnosis of ADHD is required for medical purposes, such as to access clinical support services or medications, then a medical diagnosis is required.
